Science Communicator Map: Seat Request

Claim a seat on the Science Communicator Map

The Science Communicator Map follows how a medicine goes from lab idea to pharmacy shelf to drug safety monitoring, and pins a science communicator to each step so readers know who to follow for what.

What you get: a profile pop-up with your bio, the topics people can ask you about, your best post and all your links; a profile link you can share; a ready-made share graphic; and cross-referrals from every other member. It is free, you keep your own brand, there is no posting requirement, and you can leave anytime.

This takes about 5 minutes. You will see your listing before it goes live.

Science Communicator Map: Participation Terms (v1.0, October 31, 2026; clarified November 3, 2026)

  1. Volunteer. Being on the map is free and unpaid. It does not make you an employee, partner, agent or representative of Open Label Media LLC.
  2. Your content stays yours. You give Open Label Media permission to show your name, photo, bio, links and the details you send on the map and in posts that promote it. You can withdraw that permission anytime, and your listing comes down at the next weekly update.
  3. You speak for yourself. You are responsible for your own content. Open Label Media does not review or endorse your channels, and you do not speak for Open Label Media.
  4. Standards. Cite primary sources, disclose conflicts of interest, correct mistakes in public, stay in your lane, and do not sell or promote treatments, supplements or clinics that lack trial evidence, even ones you have tried yourself. Patients and caregivers: your own story is welcome; promoting an unproven path is not.
  5. Making a living. Making good science content takes time, gear and money, and getting paid for it is fine. Sponsors, affiliate links, books, courses and speaking fees are welcome on the map. Disclose them, and keep them to products and services that do not make health claims the evidence has not backed.
  6. Conflicts. Tell us about any paid relationship with a health product company. We may note it on your profile or decline the listing.
  7. No confidential information. Do not send us confidential information from your employer, patients or anyone else. We will never ask for it.
  8. Your employer. Check your own employer’s policies before joining. Being on the map does not mean your employer endorses it, or that Open Label Media endorses your employer.
  9. Removal. Open Label Media may remove a listing that no longer meets the standards, with a private heads-up first where possible.
  10. No money. No money changes hands. If that ever changes, it would be a separate written agreement.
  11. Review. Before listing you, Open Label Media reviews your public science communication and checks any credentials you list against public records, such as state license lookups. We only look at public professional information, never your personal life.
